Creating Complex Sentences
When writers reach an advanced level in their English, they often feel compelled to write sentences that are simple and complex. For post people, this means filling their writing with extremely long and wordy sentences. Then, while trying this, they create incoherent sentences that lose their intended meaning, and that are filled with many grammatical errors.
English sentences are actually quite “simple” when compared to the preferred writing styles or other languages. We actually prioritize clarity and simplicity in our writing and you must prioritize this as well.
The key to good writing for any Cambridge exam is simplicity.
Your answers should be a mixture of both simple and “complex” sentences.
They will clearly state what you want to say.
They will not include too many ideas.
They probably will seem too “simple” for you; however, they are the key to writing a good essay for Cambridge.
