Overview
B2 First Exam
Introduction
Duration:
40 minutes
The Test:
The paper is composed of 4 sections.
There are 30 questions in total.
Recordings are played twice.
The audio and questions become progressively more difficult as the test progresses.
Sections
Part 1 - You’ll listen to a series of unrelated recordings (approx. 30 seconds each) and answer one multiple-choice question for each recording.
Part 2 - You’ll hear a monologue or a dialogue with two or more speakers (approx. 3 minutes) and complete sentences on the question paper using the information they heard in the recording.
Part 3 - You’ll listen to a series of statements and related monologues (approx. 30 seconds each) and choose which statement best matches what each speaker says.
Part 4 - You’ll hear a conversation with two or more speakers (approx. 3 minutes) and answer seven multiple-choice questions.
Scoring
There are 30 possible points in total.
1 point is given for each correct answer.
In Part 2, minor spelling errors are allowed, as long as it's clear what you wanted to write.
During the exam, if you cannot hear the audio, raise your hand immediately for assistance. Do not wait until the end of the exam to bring it up.
