Overview

In Part 7 of the Reading and Use of English paper of the B2 First Exam, you are given a long text that is broken into smaller sections, as well as 10 statements. You must match each statement to the section of the text that gives the information.

It's possible for paragraphs to have multiple answers.

Scoring

• You are awarded 1 point for each correct answer in this section.

Process

• • • Start by reading the introduction to the task and the title of the article - they give you an idea of what the text is about

    • Then, start reading the paragraph. You will read one paragraph at a time.

    • Once you've completed a paragraph, look at the options. 

    • When you find an option that you read about, underline where it is in the text; it may end up being wrong later so it’s good to know where things are

    • Underline as many things as you can from that paragraph before moving on.

    • Then, move on and repeat the process with the next passage

• • • Look for synonyms - if a word is in both the text and in the question it is probably NOT the answer.
