Example Answer
Art programs make the most sense financially
The distribution of school funding is often a topic of hot debate, as some programs unfortunately must be sacrificed in order to continue others. Sometimes it’s not possible to fund both an art and music program at the same time. However, if a choice must be made between the two, it’s important to continue offering art classes above all.
Art classes play an important role in the development of a high school student. It offers an outlet for their creativity and gives them a means of expressing themselves. Furthermore, art is a rather accessible activity that does not cost much for the schools, students, and parents alike. Because of this, having an art program is not only the best choice in regard to learning, but also makes the most sense financially.
While music programs also offer valuable skills to young people, such as the opportunity to increase their math skills and work as a team, it unfortunately is not an activity which is affordable to everyone. Both schools and parents are responsible for footing the bill for such programs, and instruments and travel costs related to performances do not come cheap. As a result, if a program must be cut, it should be music, and the art program should be preserved since more people can benefit from it, without breaking the bank.
In conclusion, while both art and music classes offer students valuable learning opportunities, art classes must be preserved as they are the most affordable for all parties involved.
