Overview
C1 Advanced Exam
Introduction
Duration:
40 minutes
The Test:
The paper is composed of 4 sections.
There are 30 questions in total.
Recordings are played twice.
The audio and questions become progressively more difficult as the test progresses.
Sections
Part 1 - You’ll listen to three short extracts from conversations between interacting speakers. For each recording, you must answer two multiple-choice questions.
Part 2 - You’ll hear a 3-minute monologue and you must complete 8 sentences with information heard in the recording.
Part 3 - You'll listen to a 4-minute conversation between two or more speakers. You have to answer 6 multiple choice questions about the attitudes and opinions of the speakers.
Part 4 - You’ll hear five short recordings around 30-seconds each, all about a similar topic. You have to match each of the sentences to one of the speakers. There are two sets of sentences and you are expected to complete both tasks.
Scoring
There are 30 possible points in total.
1 point is given for each correct answer.
You cannot make spelling mistakes on the C1 Advanced exam.
During the exam, if you cannot hear the audio, raise your hand immediately for assistance. Do not wait until the end of the exam to bring it up.
