Present and Future

Grammar Basics

Making the tenses sound "right".

At first glance, many of English's tenses may resemble the tenses used in other language. This is particularly true about tenses that use the -ING form ("gerund") of the verb. Therefore, students get the idea that they can use English tenses like they would in their own language. This in turn, creates a lot of little grammatical mistakes in the student's speaking and writing.

English tenses actually get used in many unique ways that some students may overlook.

This section aims to break down how we use the different tenses when talking about the present and future.
