3 Reasons Not to Homeschool Children

Some families homeschool their children instead of using the traditional educational system. However, does this do more harm than good? After considering the impact of having a parent as a teacher on a child, their ability to make friends, and the quality of education they receive, it can be said that homeschooling is in fact bad for a child.

One problem with homeschooling is that the child's teacher is also their parent. Teachers are usually strict and it's common for children to look forward to leaving school to get away from them. However, when children are homeschooled, it is harder for them to leave school behind. For this reason, it is best for a child to be sent to a school outside of the home.

Another challenge is making friends since homeschooled students have less contract with other children their age. They may feel alone, resulting in sadness and depression. This can be avoided by sending children to school where they can find others similar to them and feel less lonely.

Lastly, the quality of education children receive at home may not be as good as the education they get at school. Educators are trained and have degrees which makes them professionals, however this is usually not the case with parents. Due to this, children should be sent to school instead.

In conclusion, homeschooling creates many problems which all negatively impact a child. Sending them to school is clearly the best option for them.
